Dr. Rumena Filipova conducted a two-day training on youth attitudes, vulnerabilities and citizen education in Bulgaria and Europe as part of the Up2youth initiative, which consists of four organizations, including Foundation for Local Government Reform (Bulgaria), Fundacja Rozwoju Demokracji Lokalnej (Poland), EDUcentrum (Czechia) and Vidzeme (Latvia).
The trainings encompassed 6 presentation sessions and related interactive exercises on the following topics:
- Introduction to the topic of youth citizenship education;
- Civic education for youth: Needs, vulnerabilities and challenges;
- Youth citizenship education in Europe;
- Solutions for counteracting disinformation and fake news by means of a whole-of-society approach;
- Most and least effective educational practices in the fields of youth citizenship education; case studies and exchange of know-how;
- Recommendations and practical steps on how to implement and integrate topics on youth civic education in digital tools.
