Europe on Edge: Tackling Hybrid Warfare amid Elections, Foreign Influence and Unfinished Europeanization
Regional Conference in Sofia, January 29 - Registration Open
The Institute for Global Analytics is convening the international conference Europe on Edge. Tackling Hybrid Warfare amid Elections, Foreign Influence and Unfinished Europeanization. It will take place on January 29 at Grand Hotel Sofia, Triaditza Hall 2, between 9 am and 5:30 pm, preceded by a cocktail and keynote speech at 6 pm on January 28 at Hyatt Regency Hotel. The event represents the second annual edition of discussion forums organized on the basis of the partnership between IGA and Free Press for Eastern Europe/Science+.
The conference gathers key expert stakeholders from across Europe, who will take stock of the major trends in European politics that took place in 2024 and which sat at the intersection of foreign influence and hybrid activities, elections and unfinished Europeanization. The panels will zoom in on the roles played by Russia and China, domestic autocratic trends, the impact of (social) media and prospects for European integration, while referring to specific countries and geographic areas. The discussions will clarify developments in Romania, Moldova, the Western Balkans, South Caucasus (Armenia and Georgia) and Belarus.
Additionally, special presentation sessions will highlight the body of work conducted by the IGA and Science+ teams.
