In an article for Bulgarian Army (considered the oldest military and defense-focused newspaper in Europe), Dr. Rumena Filipova presents findings on Russian historical disinformation in Bulgaria from IGA’s newest report History Undone. The article zooms in on how the pro-Kremlin propagandist narrative about the seemingly unbreakable, fraternal, mutually beneficial and culturally-historically bound ties between Bulgaria and Russia generally informs all other specific pieces of disinformation distorting key milestones in Bulgarian history (such as March 3 – currently marked as liberation day as well as September 6 and September 22, respectively commemorating the country’s unification and independence from the Ottoman Empire).
