Dr. Rumena Filipova was delighted to represent IGA at ASCE 2026 – Securing Knowledge Across Borders: Strengthening International Research Partnerships, organised by the RISC Institute at The Texas A&M University System.
The world’s premier forum on research security – which marked its 10th anniversary, brought together over 600 experts from federal agencies, universities, and research institutions across 29 countries to debate and chart new pathways with regard to the safety of the academic research enterprise and the future of international collaboration.
As research partnerships expand across borders, so do the governance challenges surrounding integrity, foreign influence, and strategic dependency. Exchanges at ASCE 2026 offered invaluable insights and strengthened connections with academic and policy stakeholders working to safeguard open, yet resilient, research ecosystems.
